How much we spent on Claude Code in Q1.

A short post about real Claude Code spend in Q1 2026 across two devs and three apps.

The number

We spent $842 on Claude Code in Q1. Most of it on Stilya — a virtual try-on iOS app we are launching this summer.

What it bought us

  • A working SwiftUI architecture refactor that would have taken a week of pair programming.
  • Two AI integration spikes that ruled out one provider and confirmed another.
  • Hundreds of small refactors that we would have shipped slower without it.

Where we cut back

We stopped using it for one-line edits. The cost-per-keystroke is too high for tiny work — and the editor's local autocomplete already nails it.

We will publish the full breakdown next month.
